The Teaching Leader:
training teaches people to know.
Learning teaches them to do.
The Teaching Leader is a service for organisations by Marixanne Martina, educator, curriculum developer and mindset mentor.
She designs learning programs that change what people do at work, and trains managers and in-house trainers to teach in a way that sticks.
Available in the Netherlands, on Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire, and online, in Dutch, English, Spanish or Papiamentu.
Your organisation invests in training.
So why does so little change?
- People enjoy the training day. A month later, they work exactly as before.
- Your onboarding is a pile of documents, not a path.
- Managers are expected to develop their people, but nobody taught them how.
- Your in-house experts know their field, and struggle to pass it on.
- You know what people should learn. You don't know how to build a program around it.
The problem is rarely the content. It's how the learning is designed, and what happens after the training ends.
What makes this different
I've spent years in education: as a teacher, as a student mentor, and as a curriculum developer who builds programs, study guides and teacher handbooks for an entire school. I know how people learn, and I know what makes them stop.
And I'm a mindset mentor. So I don't only look at the program.
I look at the people in it: what holds them back from applying what they learned, and what helps them keep going.
The result: programs that are clear to teach, engaging to follow, and built so that what people learn shows up in their work.
What I can do for your organisation
1. Learning Program Review I look at a training, onboarding or development program you already have, and tell you honestly what works, what doesn't, and what to change first. You receive a short report with concrete recommendations.
2. Learning Program Design From learning goal to finished program. Together we define what people need to be able to do, and I build the structure, the sessions, the work forms, the materials and the way you check whether it worked. You receive a program your own people can run, including a facilitator guide.
3. Teaching Leader Training For managers, team leaders and in-house trainers who need to pass on knowledge. They learn how adults learn, how to explain so it lands, how to give feedback that helps, and how to keep people learning after the session ends.
4. Learning that sticks: a year of support A program is only as good as what happens after it. In a yearly partnership, I help you run, evaluate and improve your programs, coach the people who teach them, and build a learning culture step by step.
How it works
- Free consultation. We talk about what people need to learn and what isn't working now.
- Proposal. You receive a plan with approach, timeline and investment.
- Design or training. I build the program or train your people, in close contact with you.
- Follow-up. We check what changed, and adjust where needed.
This is not for you if…
- you're looking for someone to deliver one inspiring training day and leave;
- you want a program from a shelf, without looking at your own people and context;
- your organisation isn't willing to give people time to apply what they learn.
It is for you if you want your investment in learning to actually change how people work.

Questions people ask
What kind of programs do you design?
Onboarding, internal training, leadership development, mentoring programs and learning paths for teams.
If people need to learn something to do their work better, it can be designed.
Do you also deliver the training yourself?
Yes, if you want that.
But the goal is that your own people can run the program, so it keeps working without me.
How is this connected to mindset?
Most learning fails not because people don't understand, but because they don't apply it. Habits, doubt and pressure get in the way. That's where my mindset work comes in.
Can you work with our existing materials?
Yes.
Often the best start is a Learning Program Review of what you already have.
